Achievements of our Youth

Youth

Just what have our younger adults and teenagers been up to in the past few months? Take a look at this:

Altar Servers – We currently have a pool of 21 altar servers ranging in age from 7 to 21 years. Most of the servers are enrolled in the guild of St Stephen, (Feast Day, 26th Dec). Two members have their silver 10 year service medals and another three are approaching this achievement.

Meals on Wheels – A number of the youth have been helping out with this service in the half term holidays.

Youth to Lourdes – three members of the parish took part as helpers to the sick this year after completing a training day in Margam parish. Two of the three Youth Team Leaders came from our parish. We have seven youth interested in helping next year.

Young catechists – Four of our young people completed their training course of study and practical activities to achieve their Young Catechist Certificate.

Readers, Cantors and Extraordinary Ministers of Communion – Many of our young people participate in the Liturgy of the Mass every Sunday by fulfilling their roles in the above positions. If you are interested in joining them please ask any of the youth, Dominic or a youth leader.

Fundraising Activities – The young people recently had a fundraising event in aid of the humanitarian crises in Sudan. We also continue to fund raise to ensure that cost is not a bar when it comes to young people getting the chance to go on pilgrimage or take part in youth activities.
